About The Dan River Park
The Building Process
Local residents of Ararat, Virginia have pulled together and worked long and hard for over 10 years towards the completion of the Dan River Park. The park is spread over 14 acres of land in the beautiful mountain town of Ararat, Virginia. Close by is the Blue Ridge Parkway which offers travelers a rich experience in leisurely travel and delicious home cooked food for miles in either direction.
When at the Dan River Park you will experience a family fun atmosphere and beauty to match. The park offers a fully functional baseball diamond with a score board, lights, restrooms and concessions, a brand new playground set, horse shoe pits, a soccer field, and a newly constructed pavilion filled with picnic tables for parties and reunions.
The Hard Work Continues
Coming soon to the Dan River Park will be a walking trail with a bicycling lane, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Thanks to the hard work and dedication to a better quality of life by several local residents, the Dan River Park is gradually becoming the best park in the county.
